  • 1.  IRP 2023 PU 4 Defect

    Posted 08-14-2024 18:33

There is a defect in PU4 with regards to IRP generating Purchase Orders. If there is a unit of measure conversion, the quantity correctly converts but the cost does not. Sage Support (Karen McWhirter ) was able to duplicate and is reporting it as a defect, but there won't be a fix until the next PU which is scheduled for next spring. The suggested work around was to manually re-enter the cost on each line in IRP at which point the unit cost does convert correctly when the PO is created. My client would have to touch thousands of lines so that work around is painful. The other suggestion was to downgrade to 2023.0 and install pre-release for PU 3 which would give them back the subassembly explosion in IRP but supposedly not break the conversion in PO. If you have clients using IRP and UOM conversions for purchasing avoid PU4 if at all possible.

This may be the KB - PO's created from IRP have wrong unit cost after installing 2023.4

People should read @Kate Krueger message above very carefully and consider what policy Sage is now following for support. By my observation fixes (and product updates) are no longer regularly issued and the customer may have to wait for the next product update (on Sage's schedule) or opt for an early release type patch from Sage.

I had a customer I updated with the latest 2022.6 PU several months ago which resulted in this bug - Sales Tax displays TAX ERROR on Sales Order Invoice when first line is a Miscellaneous line item - and despite Sage seeming to admit that they introduced the bug in 2022.6 there has been no public patch, no updated 2022.6 and the customer was forced to sign a pre-release to get a patch for a version that Sage claims they still support under their N-3 support policy.

Go ahead and "whistle past the graveyard" folks but sooner or later this silent change in Sage support policy is going to grab one of your big customers too....

This seems like a pretty simple fix - a little if-then-else logic and 15 minutes of testing.  It's ridiculous to have to tell a client they have to wait until Spring of 2025 for something that simple.  Does posting in Sage City help put some pressure on them?
