  • 1.  Inventory Valuation by period report

    Hi Folks,
I have a client were their inventory by period report is different for a prior period than it was last month.   They are wondering what transaction caused the change.  Is there a way to research this or a type of transaction to look for?

    Thanks much!

Bob - I think I would start by dumping the IM_ItemTransactionHistory.M4T data to excel or perhaps crystal.... Excel would likely be more useful, but that table has fiscal year and period in it for each inventory transaction and also date & time updated...

    HI Randy,

Well, I can dump all the data.  The question is what am I looking for?   I am trying to find a $600 difference between one month and another in a $4-5 million dollar inventory.    The problem is I don't know what causes there to be a difference in the inventory valuation by period in a prior month.

    Thank you,

The transaction date is one way as @Beth Bowers mentioned, another way would be to use the fiscal year and period and look for update dates out of line.  Be advised though, it is fairly normal for some transactions to occur in the next month but before the period is closed... might be handy to know the actual date the modules were closed to see what is outside
