Interesting to hear Sage claim a win when it sounds like they were competing against an existing add-on partner in the EDI area (True Commerce v Red Tail)

Did Joe say that 84% of sales came through the channel?

Yes and I believe he was referring to ERPX3. I'm pretty sure on that because I can't remember them talking about any of their other products... Sage 300 seems to have really fallen off Sage's radar as well. Hat tip to the partners still selling Sage 500 despite it being all but abandoned publicly by Sage. Those are the real channel magicians...

Sage 300 comments were interesting. In the 1st Half Results slide, overall product and new license growth were touted for X3 and Sage 100. But for 300, only Bus Care growth of 8%. And then the price increases seemed mainly to move US pricing to match Canadian (eg, 300). When last talked to Rick Burtt about partner recruiting, roughly 12 months ago, he said they were focusing on adding 300 and X3 partners. Wonder if the 300 focus is still there.

Without knowing 300, why would somebody pick up 300 today ? What significant strength does it have over X3? It would be like picking up GP today instead of AX. You know where the money and the love are going.

To be fair, my data point was 12 months ago. I think 300 has lost its love since then.

We're adding 300 because merging in a practice that includes 300 certs. Sage is really encouraging it.

Very little competition in our area. Costs us nothing to add it. X3 is not the panacea Sage would lead you to believe. SQL solution (I don't count Sage 100 Premium.) The (CPA) firm has an international client base. Identifed by Sage as 1 of 3 continuing solutions: X3, 300, 50. Hedge against Sage 100 disappearing. Other than those, it's a distraction.

Where did sage say 300 was staying and 100 is not? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3

300 is international, 100 is only in ""the colonies"". BTW, 300 is still known as Accpac in other places. I saw a recent Softline Accpac renewal invoice (that's the South Africa piece of Sage), and ""Sage"" is just a little icon in a bottom corner.

    So much for Sage branding.

Perhaps it is a NA only initiative to explain how they will increase sales. Keeps the guillotine away from Pascal for a couple of years.....

@JohnHoyt Well said about why you've adopted 300. I'm a little concerned that X3 is MAS 500 all over again. Does anyone remember when 500 came out and on every conference call they'd be imploring the channel to pick up 500? From observation what they got was a lot of people picking up 500 ""because Sage wanted us to"" and having very little motivation to learn it. Then Sage was left with a lot of one-off MAS 500 customers who they then have to find a home for. I remember this ""pick up 500"" push very distinctly -right own to Sage staffing aggressively with regional 500 sales people. The 500 push received a little more than the typical Sage attention span of 12-18 months but like many things Sage lost interest as soon as they saw it required R&D investment.
