    Interesting, Mossberg and AllThingsD content was a big reason I read The WSJ. Not sure if this is worth it though some say its a very rich valuation for media: http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2013/08/27/allthingsd-split-dow-jones/

    I can't see why these folks wouldn't leave WSJ except if they could not get funding. Make no mistake that with online journalism the money is virtually all in conferences. Online advertising and sponsorship may pay the bills but the profits come from hosting conferences which AllThingsD does VERY well. Anyone after this is after the conference business first and the online journalism second.

    And Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg command a lot of respect from other tech journalists - most of who go out of their way to be sure to credit back any story that they read first on AllThingsD.

    Launch.co pegs the revenues -- $7 million conference, $3 million web = total $ 10 million. Purchase $ 50 million (guessing)
