Interesting addition in BusinessWorks 2012. Looks like the new release has a Live Chat session built in for direct technical support with Sage.

Amazing how they can add new hooks that are to their advantage, but just can't seem to get enhancments asked for by end users done............... Maybe this will also provide alerts to when the end users should start budgeting for the upgrade to something higher up.....

Since Sage Advisor is a component of all products - I wonder if this will roll out across the product line.

If it does we may want to consider a 90 Minds branded chat so as to meet the Sage feature.

Interesting @WayneSchulz - maybe 90 Minds should beat them to the punch and establish a customer portal-like access first? How do you see that working? Is it free? Do they need an account? Who verifies they are an actual end-user? Very interesting....

This is all getting ahead of ourselves -- though we potentially could offer a chat type service where the customer has a login/password or has to identify themselves as a customer of a 90 Minds member. The goal might be to establish an initial response -- not necessarily for members to be providing support to another member's customer. Certainly fi someone were in chat and had a question about how to run a hidden utility then that might be provided. And it could all be share and share alike -- meaning there's probably no money changing hands so long as the members are taking turns staffing the chat. It might not be such a ridiculous idea if we think that such a chat will be coming in the future. A good offense is the best defense.... And there'd have to be a strict no solicitation agreement amongst the members

They have always had a menu item for Sage Live Connect but with customers required to get Silver support, they may be just making it easier to use the cases the client gets as part of maintenance?

A good offense is the best defense...."" That's what I was thinking. And yes, certainly details to work out but I find this to be an opportunity to Brand/Market the 90 Minds group and be pro-active. Lets not let this thought drop...

If the link is in the ""web page"" side of the MAS interface like they are now we should be able to customize that for our customers and replace the Sage link, correct?

A quick Google search found this -- seems to be primarily entry level products though Abra has chat availability displayed: http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/app/chat/chat_launch

Did you notice the Certified Consultant Knowledge Center link in the lower left corner? It allows you to search for a Peachtree, ACT!, DacEasy or Timeslips consultant. How long has this been out here??

They've allowed searches for a while - I think they publish a CPA program database as well. So far it's only been on the lower end products.
