Installed Sage 100c Standard 2019 as a test environment.  Also installed on same server is Sage 100 Standard 2015 which is the live company.  One person logs directly onto the server and ran into printing issues so I copied the 2018 pvxwin32.exe.config file and placed it into the Home directory of the 2015 version of Sage. Everything was working properly on the server.  I did not load the 2019 workstation on any of the other workstations.  Then I received calls from the other users saying they were receiving the Error 200 SY_ReportCommon.pvc 629.  I then installed the 2019 onto their workstations and they were able to preview the document, but when they went to post registers they began receiving the Printer not activated, error code -41.  I would then go and uninstall and reinstall the PDF converter and everything worked properly.

Is there some step I missed or a way to prevent going through all of this just to set up a test environment?

Your end result is the same process I've ended up with - install test upgrade, install workstations, copy config file.  It is more work at that moment, but cuts down on issues later.

With 2019, we need to add a new upgrade checklist item:  besides the Crystal version issue (2018 pvxwin32.exe.config), there is an issue with the Amunyi driver going to version 6.0.  Versions of Sage 100 that work with Amunyi 5 won't work with Amunyi 6, so In the older version of Sage 100 you have to reinstall the PDF Converter.
I suspect that when you go live on 2019 you will need to reinstall it again in 2019 on each workstation.

Since v2018 came out with the CR config issue, we've recommended a stand-alone workstation for testing (whenever possible).
