Installing Sage 100 Advanced on Windows 2012 server with .NET Framework 4.5 installed. I get a message that .NET Framework 3.5 must be installed very early in the installation process. The customer's IT department insists on using .NET 4.5. Does anyone know of a workaround?

Rumor has it that the solution is to install v2013..........

What if you skip over it? On occasion, I install FRx and it prompts for .NET 1.1 and higher level is already installed. I thought the ,NET famework was cumulative.

Sorry we are installing Sage 100 2013. The message then throws you out of the installation process. Harold Westover Sent from my iPad

.NET installs are separate and distinct. Why not install v3.5 in addition to v4.5?

Looks like you are between a rock and a hard place. Why is the IT department being a jerk?

that's what I was thinking - should be able to install both and not do any damage to 4.5 from Microsoft (discussing 4.5): This version of the .NET Framework runs side-by-side with the .NET Framework 3.5 and earlier versions, but performs an in-place update for the .NET Framework 4.

What @ericanderson said and Sage is not going to change their installer either.

I recall running into an issue installing Sage Intelligence that required .NET 3.5 and had a bear of a time getting it to run. So perhaps the 3.5 is for SI?

I did an install (server migration) on Server 2012 Essentials recently - with client acknowledging that it's not technically supported. Uh, how do I navigate the Start Menu?
