Installing MAS200 4.5 workstation on a Windows 8 machine. The install seems to go well. The server port ID is 9800. When launching the client, the system says that it is unable to connect to the server (the server cannot be found). No one else on the network is having this issue. Is there a Windows 8 trick I am missing?

Can you right-click on the desktop or program shortcut for the MAS200 client and make sure the server name and port is correctly populated?

Yes, the server and port are correct in the shortcut and the SOTA.INI. I have also turned off the firewall entirely with still no luck.

WIN 8 has weird rights issues. Spent several days last month pulling my hari out on 90 install. Can you ping the server? Did you install as the admin?

Thanks for the response. This turned out to be a lot more simple. There was still a MAS200 v4.4 shortcut. Once I got rid of that and used the 4.5 (Sage ERP 100) things went well. FYI, the Windows 8 firewall DOES need a hole punched in it for the server port or full access for all local domain ports. Now on to the printing fun... :-/
