Installed 2014 on the same server as 4.5 in preparation for an upgrade. Client will continue to use 4.5 for a few weeks. Now, when trying to email invoices via Paperless Office in 4.5 they can no longer connect to the SMTP server. It was working fine until the 2014 install. The error is: ""Unable to login to SMTP connection. This SMTP server did not list authentication methods. Chilkat Log: Defaulting to LOGIN authentication method. login_method: LOGIN 504 5.7.4. Unrecognized authentication type Failed to send AUTH LOGIN. I confirmed that all setting in company maintenence are correct. I'm guessing a new version of Chilkat or something similar was installed. Any ideas on reverting back or on how to fix this? Thanks

Thanks so much Wayne. That is exactly what I needed. The only problem is I did not save the old dll's. Any ideas other than restoring from a backup? Thanks again

They are usually reinstalled when you reinstall the v4.5 workstation.

Thanks guys but reinstalling the workstation setup does not install the chilkat dlls's. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still no luck. I looked at other workstations and they don't even have these files. They are only on the server. Any ideas on how to get these dll's to an older version? And yes Alan, this group does ROCK!!

Do you check the Syswow64 folder? Are you on Standard?

Resolved !! Thank you all. I had to restore the Cilkat DLL's from a backup. I registered them as explained in the article and everything works great now. Thanks again..

Are the Chilkat DLL's interchangeable (grab them from another customer's system) if needed? If so, anybody have a spare set?

Thanks Jeff. I also renamed my 2012 DLL's, uninstalled 4.50 wksetup and installed and now have 3 new ones with 1/13/11 date - those should also be good then right?
