  • 1.  InstaDocs DLL registration

    Posted 11-27-2019 08:39
Good morning all, particularly the DSD Crew. Just got an email from a client who's receiving the following message: The InstaDocs dll must be re-registered to continue. Do you want to proceed?. The Sage advanced client is installed on a terminal server. They click on Yes but that doesn't register the dll and the message continues to appear.
Does anyone know the name of the dll and where it's located.

    Thanks

I think it puts an additional "install" into the wksetup folder.  You need to run it as administrator

and install it to a local folder on the user's PC ("C:\sage")

This client upgraded to 2019. I just connected to their server and can see the instadocs installation file in the 2018 wksetup folder, but there's none in the 2019 wksetup folder.

This happened to me too on a 2019. According to DSD the additional Workstation install went away with this version. You can copy the dll from the server.

    H Michelle,
The msi is gone for 6.10; it's no longer needed. The dsddocuments.dll should be copied to the workstation automatically upon load of the instadocs panel. Is this not happening? If not, let me know. It can be copied manually from the server's home directory to the wrkstn.
    Thanks

Follow up on this posting from earlier today from Joe at DSD.

"That .msi is obsolete on the 2019 builds. This build is designed to move the dll from the server to the wkstn automatically, then register it, upon the load of the instadocs panel."

This didn't happen in my case, but after launching Sage 2019 on the server and then clicking Yes on the prompt to register the dll, the DSDDocuments.dll was registered on the server and following this, the terminal server client then had no further issue.
