Indiana , Michigan, South Carolina FUTA tax rate - these 3 states do not have the normal .8% on their FUTA taxes. Indiana and South Carolina will be 1.1% for 2011 and Michigan is 1.4% for 2011. This is NOT covered by the tax table update sent out by Sage. And I'm sort of curious as to how people are going to handle multiple companies in MAS90 when one company has the modified rate and one does not - there is only one place (the FED record) to input these rates...

According to this article pertaining to MI for 2010 when their FUTA rate was raised to 1.1% you keep the Unemployment rate in Tax Table Maint at 0.8% then adjust the FUTA to the corrected amount when you file the 940 right (Excel required I guess): http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=511010

Well, sure, if you don't mind under-accruing all year long...

Could you turn on and set up a LOCAL tax table to accrue the difference? Would that work?

Wouldn't a local tax deduct from an employee's wages? And Indiana already uses local codes - that's another fun thing there - if you live in Michigan but work in Indiana, you have to pay Indiana county taxes. Trying to figure out how to send those electronically this year. Ahhhh - I should move.

As an aside I think the writing is on the wall for Sage MAS payroll. It can't be long before they issue an end of life ... can it?

Way too much of an install base. Way too easy and simple to use (compared with other Sage PR products). If they dump PR, kiss the MAS 90 line good bye.
