  • 1.  Increasing size for Business Object UDFs

    A SO Invoice Header UDF (String, Multi-Line) has downstream UDFs into IM_TransactionPosting and IM_TransactionHistory.  The SO Invoice UDF was increased from 8 to 15 characters.  Is there a way to increase the downstream UDF length?  The field length is inaccessible in UDF Maintenance.  I'm concerned that if I delete and re-create them, the data will be deleted.  Or must I create new UDFs in those two tables and source them from the SO Invoice UDF?  Any other options?

    I just ran into this and I was able to temporarily de-select the Data Source file on tab 3 in the UDF setup, then the length field became available.  After changing the length, I added back my data source and was good to go.  Not sure if there's an easier way, but that worked for me.

    Yes, what Barb says, exactly.  Uncheck the link and resize, then relink.  (Sometimes I've had to save / update without the link before I could resize / relink).
    Remember to refresh database in any reports, to have CR recognize the extra characters.
