v2018 Advanced - The customer needed to look up some information on an employee that hasn't worked at the company since 2017 and the employee is missing from employee maintenance.  They found the information in a 2017 backup company.  How can an employee get deleted from the payroll module? Setup option history is set to 20 years.

Is it possible that history setting got changed within recent years?  Is it possible it was set to a lower setting and the employee got purged as part of year-end processing?

That's possible.  Do terminated and/or inactive employees get terminated during qtr end or year end processing based on the setup options history setting?

Thanks @Mary Jo Krueger  !  I am going to look at the years saving history in the backup companies and also the activity logs and see if I can figure out how and when the deletion occurred.
