In the past I've found leads that read like this:
The contact for this project is an IT consultant that is helping a current client locate a new software solution. They are looking for a whole new ERP system to replace an older AS/400 based solution. They are upgrading to IBM iSeries and need a new software to manage the accounting, distribution and manufacturing components.
To be mostly an IT person who knows little about ERP but is hoping (for a fee) to find someone like you (for free) to explain it, price it and give them some pointers on what to look at, questions to ask and other tips. All for free.
And I'll be damned if most of us don't fall for this time and time again.
