Bob Sosbee passed away on August 23rd, 2021. Bob left behind his wife of 26 years, Peggy, and their two adult children.

He was born on March Air Force Base 50+ years ago, the middle child of three. He started programming at an early age and was in the Sage community for around 25 years.

Anyone who has been in the Sage 100 / MAS90 development community for any length of time has run into Bob somewhere. He was one of the quickest to respond to questions and had a deep knowledge of the Sage programs, especially the older stuff. He remembered issues and their solutions better than most. He loved to have the answers and share them with whoever asked.  He was quick to ask for help, too, and always appreciated it. In short, he was a stellar member of the Sage Master Developer group as well as other communities.

Those who knew and/or worked with Bob will miss him. He was a good man, a good colleague, and a good friend.

If any members have any additional information to share, please feel free to post.

Very sorry to learn of Bob's passing.  I never met Bob in person, but I spoke with him on the phone several times, particularly when he was with IIG.  I believe he wrote the POS system when he worked at IIG. He was super smart, and knew a ton about ProvideX and Sage 100 and how POS systems work. May he rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of this. I think Bob was key in helping to create/develop the Click2Pay for APS as well as many other programming projects. I talked to him at several events and always felt like he was one of the top authorities for technical questions. RIP Bob.

I was and still am deeply saddened at news of Bob's passing in late August. Anybody who knows or has ever talked to Bob remembers his consistent and familiar "Howdy Howdy" greeting. He was my colleague at ASI for about a year. Anne's description / bio of him is very accurate. What Doug added is so right-on the money too. Let me add a few things.

    * He was a big story-teller. He had so many work and life experiences that every work situation reminded him of something interesting from the past that he made a point to share.

    * He constantly spoke of his wife Peg. She supported him in every way. Since we all lived not too far away from each other, we kept talking about making a trip to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA or a tour of March Air Force base. I knew that would've been a full day of listening to story-telling but a lot of fun as well.

    * Back in late 90s / early 2000s, the Irvine, CA office of State of the Art (later known as Sage then Best then Sage again, I think that's the correct order) contracted out IIG to internally implement what was then called MAS 200 Client/Server v3.30 for Windows. A home-grown Unix based ERP system was used prior to that. MAS was hugely modified obviously and primarily in the areas of creating a shipping system to ship out all those crazy CDs (the floppy disks had already been retired thank God) for Mas90/200 ERP orders from partners. This was the 1st time I met Bob. He was the director / orchestrator of both the development and implementation. That is still IIG's biggest project ever (Bob told me so).

So many other things too. I hope at MOTM we can spend a few minutes celebrating his memories.

Wow, just wow.  I only got to share a few phone calls with Bob when 90M went with APS CC processing and a bit more with Click to Pay support phone calls.  He always had positive things to say even when I wasn't in a positive mood.  He shared a few of the Sage stories.  They truly were the good old days!  And he was a REMARKABLE person!  My condolences to his wife and children.
