In regards to Sage 100 Subscriptions, the original plans before 100c, just noticed this morning they are renewing for $50 less per month which is the price of payroll. We were told by Sage that these plans would not change. It appears that as of May 1, they switched everyone's Sage 100 Subscription to not include Payroll without a notice to us or the customer. Has anyone else seen this or know the status? Do we need to quickly sign up all Sage 100 Subscription customers for Payroll or face the $2,500 plus fees for signing back up?

My understanding is that payroll comes off and becomes a separate payroll subscription. Sage has been advising that during the last several months. Who at Sage said that payroll stays on maintenance? I've seen at least one other Sage mailing (which I believe was recent) advising that payroll updates would be included under regular maintenance. My understanding is that info is wrong and that all 5/1/16+ renewals have payroll taken from regular maintenance and placed into a separate payroll maintenance which includes a tiered fee based upon the number of active employees paid. I have every expectation that it will take Sage a couple more FAQ's one webinar and several conference calls with the earliest adopters before they themselves understand their rules.

Sage is supposed to be contacting customers to get them signed up on the separate payroll subscription. Some of mine have been contacted and some have not. One customer sent me her renewal notice to get clarification. Although the verbiage at the top says that payroll is not included, the line item shows ""payroll unlimited users"". Not the first time we've seen that, either.

Our Sage Rep sent us a Payment Authorization Form that the client can complete and only ""Fax"" into Sage. He stated Sage Op's is having trouble keeping up with the calls. Can't imagine why they are having trouble when they roll out all sorts of new subscription offerings at the same time they let lots of folks go in Irvine and try to move cross country. Gotta love the Sage Strategy and Execution!

It's not like Sage did not have significant advance notice that this was coming.

Here is additional info on this that I just received from our Sage rep. I spoke w/ my Product Management/Marketing team this morning and found out that we are currently working on a new process for notifying Sage 100 Subscription clients of the payroll change. There aren't too many of them out there and everyone was under the impression that it would be manually handled with the Sales Op's team but with the current transition of Op's from Irvine to Atlanta we are reevaluating the process to make sure we don't miss anything. Sage is continuing to put out updates to the Payroll Module through 4/30/2017 but we need to make sure all S100 Subscription clients have moved onto a subscription by that time. I'll keep you updated as I find out more. Hope this helps a little.

IOW - the kill switch for new keys by default is 4/30/17 which gives Sage a 1 year grace period to get this running for the May 1+ renewals

    That's not enough time.

No, by 4/30/17 Sage will still be twiddling their thumbs wondering why it's so tough to get the payroll users onto tiers. Would be interesting to know the attrition due to the tiers.

I'm tracking my customers. Two so far are going to QB for payroll, and they're fine with manual journal entries.
