    I wasn't able to attend 90 Minds, but I heard that it was discussed that i was possible to do a Premium upgrade by installing on top of the old SQL server instance.  Does anyone have any notes on that?

    I just tried in a test system and did have success when selecting the existing SQL instance (it said it would merge), but do I still need to migrate (I tried that but it didn't like old/new instance the same)?. I went into company maintenance and tried convert data but it didn't like the folder.

    So, clearly there is more to it than I thought.  Any guidance or hints are very welcome!

    Hi Robert,
    You only want to use that merge method if you are forced too.  But since it sounds like you already did no you do not need to migrate as you just installed on top of the Premium instance that was being used and it no longer exists after a merge.  Let me know if you have any questions for me on that.
