General Consultant Discussion

Someone shared a thread with an end user, an absolute no-no.

@DebThomas - There are a lot of new members that might not be aware of the Fight Club rule (ie; we don't talk about Fight Club).

Agreed...our community is uunique. Too bad someone went south.

The Vegas rules of the group have been compromised. This is a reminder to all members that what goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas. As noted above, if you want to pass along tips from the group, you must remove all identifying references about the poster. NO EXCEPTIONS. IF anyone has any questions about this rule, please post it here. As bad or actually worse than sharing with customers is sharing with Sage or another software provider. Some of us have been known to post some pretty candid comments that we never thought would reach those groups.

I was put on the spot not too long ago by a Sage vendor that directly quoted a post from this group, but mentioned no one's name. I was floored to say the least but didn't think to ask them who had given them the information. Thanks @ThereseLogeais for putting this out there. It should be noted that even if you remove any confidential info., names, etc. a comment from this group posted out of context can become a lively talking point and end up a twisted message.

That's why it's smart to never post anything that you cannot defend. Sage used to call me all the time until every conversation ended with the determination that my opinion had some (or a lot) of validity. So now they just call Doug and try to slyly get me kicked out of the DSD Group.

@WayneSchulz - Next Sage will be finding out how big a campaign contribution it takes to get the Justice Department or IRS after you...

Sage understands very well how powerful this group is, because it includes many of the best consultants in the channel. I know it has to frustrating to them, because they have no control over what we say or do and no access to our comments. That's the way it needs to stay, so we all need to remember that.
