  • 1.  Impact of Sage consolidation of BMS and Intacct teams

    Posted 11-07-2023 16:28

I was talking with Dianna Lane at the ITA meeting about the recent consolidation of the Intacct and BMS partner teams.   The initial impression I had and got from Dianna, was that this was "about time" and makes sense for a partner to have one primary contact instead of two.  Dianna indicated that it will take some time for the PAMs to get up to speed on all the systems from the other side, but that they were up to the task.   She also indicated that she did not know if there were any plans to consolidate systems.

In speaking with some Intacct partners, the loss of Peyton Burch and the PSMs (Intacct team) left a hole and that some good people were let go.  According to Dianna, they are eligible for rehire and some have been rehired already in new roles.

How has this impacted you and what are your thoughts on the changes?

Laurie Schultz - SVP and GM Sage North America departed Sage in 2011.

I use her as an anchor for the timeframe when I am positive I heard Sage talk about:

    1. No more silos
    2. One Sage / make it easier to do business with Sage
    3. Listening tour ( aka arguing tour)

Probably many of you sat through the same three topics ( please don't hesitate to jump in and correct me if I was hallucinating )

So, 12 years later Sage is finally doubling down on One Sage, And they're not kidding around this time.

    Ok.

This topic was also the focus on the Nov 2, 2023 - FY 24 Partner Kickoff aka One Sage Ecosystem ( fka Sage All Hands )

This is really an internal to Sage question since none of us - not BPAC , not certified consultants, not the group as a whole - can do much to change Sage. Only Sage can make this type of change internally and I wish them well.

    Go Sage!

Please consider Sage's "one Sage" movement and how this apparently doesn't (yet) apply to conferences as there is still a separate Sage Transform (Intacct only - customers and partners) , cancelled Sage Partner Summit and a TBD "Fall 2024"

From the October 2023 Sage email:

Sage Partner Summit 2023 was one for the books with three days of moments to meet, learn, chat, debate, workshop, work smart, and yes… party. We enjoyed connecting with the community in Las Vegas and if you weren't able to join, we hope you've checked out the breadth of event content shared in Sage University.

We're excited to announce some updates to our partner events starting in 2024.

A new event series is under development to bring together our partner and customer communities with plans to kick off in Fall 2024 (aligning with the new fiscal year). As a result, we will not be hosting a Sage Partner Summit event in 2024.

For our Sage Intacct partners, save the date for Sage Transform, February 26-29 in Las Vegas, focused on the North American Sage Intacct community of customers, partners, and industry leaders.

Stay tuned for more information about the new fall events and stop by to say hello at some of the industry events we are attending throughout the year.

Sure Sage can make the argument that their conferences are tied into long-term contracts or they were too far along with Sage Transform to let in the unwashed masses to include other products and consultants.

I say wait and see. Wait and see if Sage does in fact introduce a conference for Fall 2024. Wait and see if that conference includes all Sage products or perhaps Sage's "One Sage" really means --- just focus on one product ( Sage Intacct).

Remember when Sage had the tag line of "Power of One" some years ago?  Internally, we called it POO...I think this is just more Poo...
