Sage 100

I'm working on an upgrade for a local CPA firm who has both Time and Billing and Timekeeper. Anyone done one of these recently and have feedback on how the upgrade went? They are upgrading from Sage 100 ERP 4.10.

That's a pretty big jump for any of the former HighTower enhancements. I remember the jump from 4.1 to 4.4 was a bit of a disaster. We had problems with the upgrade from 4.4 to 2013 too. It wasn't catastrophic but it wasn't problem free. Mike did it so I don't have details. You could email him for details. MikeA@ddfcgi.com.

Yes, just ""tried"" this last Thursday. Had an issue that SWK was able to recreate in-house and they are working on a fix. Error 52 My client was coming from 4.4.

I did one with Timekeeper a month ago (no T&B). First, rebuild all your timekeeper files prior to the upgrade. My customer's took aver 2 hours and the upgrade would not work until I did this. Second, you know the notes that we don't always read because we've done it so much. Well, read their notes--they have additional info that we have to follow specifically for this upgrade. I think it has to do with uninstalling the HT keys and installing the SWK keys. Lastly, you might want to check with Peggy Beaver at SWK, who told me everyone who does TK upgrades struggles. If I can find more notes, I'll send them on.

Thanks Roberta - I have a call into SWK and I saw there were some manual steps that require installing T&B, Sage 100, running a utility then installing T&B again.

We had issues with the TK upgrades to 4.5 and 2013 as well and Roberta is spot on with the feedback on the ""Read me"" notes - skip them at your own peril. SWK tech support was able to help us resolve the issues we had. We are running TB and TK 2013 with PU7 and it's working well, also have two clients using just 2013 TK with PU7 installed and not having any issues.

Lots of problems converting this data - still unsure what the main issue is but everything points to the enhancement. Probably going to need to inform this user that their system will not be live for the new year. Use caution on any Time and Billing or Timekeeper upgrades and expect lots of conversion issues.
