    I'm working on an installation of version 4.5. with SWK Point of Sale (still in testing environment). I'm trying to install the Sage barcode module. when I start the installation, I choose to modify my existing installation. it then comes back with a message ""the installed version of the application cannot be determined. The Setup will now terminate"" Anyone seen this? I'm looking for records in SY0CTL and system files that might have the wrong version but it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

    Did you look in SY_Company? I can't verify but I think we had to modify the version of a particular module in that due to an enhancement being installed for one of our customers.

    I found this on the knowledgebase. I am guessing you have tried this one but just in case... 110-457391 - ""Setup unable to determine level"" when installing an IRD Entry Type: Informational Product: Sage MAS 90 ERP, Sage MAS 200 ERP Application: Library Master Version Reported: All Subject: ""Setup unable to determine level"" occurs when installing an IRD. Possible Resolution: The installation script is unable to read the version in Status.flp. In Windows Explorer, got to ..\Mas90\Home. Open Status.flp in Notepad. Verify that the version number is incorrect, and perform any of the following: Replace the incorrect version number with the correct version number. Copy Status.flp file from another installation Restore Status.flp from a backup.

    SY_Company only has one record and it shows 4.5 The Status.flp has the correct version too. I did notice that the sy_module table has a record in it that refers to extended enterprise suite. Maybe that is it?

    Hey David - let me know how the upgrade goes. We have been working on a SWK POS upgrade since February. We finally gave up and decided to what until 2014 to see if the bugs had receeded. We put a couple of hundred hours in this and the client put in a multiple of that. SWK told us that it was environmental to the client data, but then we found the errors that we were experiencing in on the fixed issue list in subsequent new release. We (the client and us) determined the product was unusable in July and have been on a holding pattern since. 40 MAS Users and 8 POS lanes....

    Chris, I had to uninstall all versions of MAS90 and Sage100 and remove all the common information folders for all versions and eventually got it to install. Upgrading Point of Sale was a chore - I finally got the client to a point of testing the software. But then they decided to selloff the retail portion of the business and we did the final upgrade without point of sale after all. if it helps here are the steps I used to get it upgraded to version 4.5 for testing purposes. install version 4.2 on new 2012 server (I got many errors but finally got it installed) Copy the production version of 4.2 over the top my new 4.2 install Uninstall version 4.2 Hightower modification from library master extensions > utility > enhancements patch installations. Select Removal then check the box by Hightower Modifications in company maintenance select company CTC and ZZZ (one at a time and click on remove then remove the Hightower Modifications Uninstall Hightower module from library master > Setup > system configuration. Click on Uninstall modules and remove the Hightower modifications module install version 4.3 over the top of version 4.2 Install the Point of sale for version 4.3 Install version 4.5 and POS version 4.5 in another location Migrate the data, Convert the data.
