I'm trying to install the CS-ODBC for a client. Never done this before. I would like to set it up to run as a service. My steps: Server 2012. I right clicked on start , selected Run, \\server\share\Sage 100 Std v2016\Mas90\home\pvxiosvr.exe -i and proceed. it doesn't error but yet I can't see it in Services either. Also tried local path, same thing. What am I doing wrong? Since it needs to be configured (per instructions, I'm assuming I should be able to see it). Thanks

Reboot server??? I have limited experiences with this as well. It just seemed to be trickier than it should be.

Run as administrator? Does your login account allow you to create services?

Well, not exactly sure but I stopped the Sage 100 service and tried it and it installed. Or it was because I opened PowerShell (as admin) and typed the path. Not sure which did it but finally success. Happy New Year!!

I installed this last week to a 2012 server and [used these instructions](https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=31669&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=148202&docType=kc&isLoadPublishedVer=&stateId=148204&docTypeID=DT_Article&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl). I also turned on ""use C/S ODBC"" for each user. Beyond that I don't think I had to do anything extra (aside from check that the service was installed/running).

I've always had to use the command prompt to get it to work.

The instructions I had just said to do File/Run and type path to pvxiosvr.exe. Nothing about CMD! I was at least smart enough (after awhile!) to think it might be CMD and then type the path. Live and Learn!
