Sage 100

I'm trying to install Sage 100 Advanced 2013 and receive the following message after it says its going to install the Windows Installer 4.5 and the MV C++ Runtime Libraries. ""Sage 100 ERP 2013 Setup has failed. If the problem persists, please contact Product Support.

Are you logged in as Administrator and is the AV disabled?

I have run into this. You may have to install the required supporting solutions through windows installer. I ran into this with server 2012. I want to say it stopped on the C++ Runtime and that is what I had to install through the windows installer instead of the Sage installation.

We also have had similar issues. Having the Customers IT person install .net and C++ has been the solution. If the stars aren't just right, it seems Sage's installer can't get it done.

Bad install files also. Try copy from a different download

Thank you everyone for your input. The problem ended up being with the 4.5 Installer - something is very wrong and it won't let you uninstall it to get it reinstalled. Their IT person is on it.

As others have indicated - I have run into this twice. I think the C++ can self install but the .NET required install from the server console (not sure of the exact place). In both cases IT had to install the first component then Sage installer could do the second.

Just ran into this on a v4.5 to 2013 upgrade of Sage 100 Standard. Still fiddling with the root cause. @JaneScanlan do you recall what ultimately had to be done? Customer's IT staff said they installed the C++ through Windows vs the Sage installer (which has been a cure in the past). Any other advice?

The Windows installer kept failing. I tried to uninstall it and could not do that so I had to turn it over to the customer's IT guy. I'm sorry but I don't know what he did, but he had to take care of it. Once he got it uninstalled I was then able to have it install successfuly from the install CD.

Thanks. Sounds as if the trick is to first have IT uninstall c++ in this case.

Yes I would do that. From then on the Sage install CD successfully installed the prerequisites.

Thanks Jane. I have to laugh because this customer is an IT shop and they installed MAS to their heaviest trafficed server which also means they cannot reboot then thing except once per week at 6am on Sunday.... (Sage is only used for GLAP).

Am running into this issue today. When .NET is installed, should I not see it under Programs in Control Panel? I downloaded it from the web, but nothing happens when trying to launch the .NET install program.

Not sure if this is relevant but see @LarryBradford comment above about using windows installer for .net on a 2012 server.

I saw that. Is Windows Installer the ""Get Programs"" option in Control Panel?
