I'm preparing to start a Quickbooks to Sage 100 implementation. Any hints on data conversion? Plan is to export transactions, reassign new COA numbers in Excel then import into Sage 100.

You might want to check out Greytrix as they offer a QB to Sage 100 migration service. Here is a link: http://www.greytrix.com/Product/45/Sage-100-ERP/Quickbooks-to-Sage-100-Migration

Haven't others some problems getting projects done timely? These folks want to be up and running at the end of the month.

What I've learned is that there are no account numbers, only names. The cross-reference is going to be crazy.

If you're going the export route, assign GL accounts in QB and then export the detail.

@GaryFeldman good that I only have to convert GL transactions. No AP. No AR. Yippee!

@KathrynScofield - when you have discussions with this customer set YOUR deadlines based upon days after the customer provides their data. Do not allow yourself to be backed into a corner where the customer only provides the data on July 4 at 5pm then has the expectation that you'll work all holiday to get the data ready. For example, ""Within xx days of receiving access to your QuickBooks data which has account numbers already assigned"" we will import the general ledger accounts (no history) to Sage 100.

Good point. Planned on confirming dr = cr but will have them sign off on year end trial balances for the three years we're migrating.

If you have that much data you may want to have THEM do it in chunks. Give them the VI job and a lesson and have them do 2 years and 10 months in advance. Then you don't have to deal with commas in descriptions and the such.

@WayneSchulz I've learned this from you. Project plan requires data for 2013-2016 Q1 by the end of this week. Remainder on Thursday night before go live the following Tuesday.
