Committee Events

I'm not going to be able to make today's meeting. It's Shakespeare day at my kids' school and my daughter has a bigger role in the play this year. Henry IV Part 1, she's playing Falstaff, for any that might mean anything to. If you know the play and know me and assume my daughter is too much like me, you'll understand how appropriate the casting is.

Falstaff. Too much! Is she playing it straight, or as some female rendition of it? BTW, if you haven't seen the BBC/PBS series ""The Hollow Crown"" you should look it up. Excellent rendition of Will's history plays, much of it shot as a movie on location. The Falstaff in that play I recall as done quite realistically. Give her a ""break a leg"" for me!

@JerryNorman she's playing it in drag. If she were to play it straight, it would have to be a female rendition. ;) She is playing it as a man and playing it out to a hilarious degree assuming it all plays out. Will do!

I'm impressed that schools are still encouraging this. Is Shakespeare mandated by Common Core?

Wouldn't this fall under reading, thinking, speaking and interpreting?
