I'm going to create a ""Read Me"" file to leave behind on upgrades. This would be the top tech issues that an IT person might encounter. I'm just starting and would like to hear your opinion on any that should be added. https://www.dropbox.com/s/asqkba7oeflfp42/Sage%20100%20Tips.txt

How about suggesting they perform the following for Windows 7 workstations: (I don't know if all are valid or correct) -Turn off UAC -Turn off DEP -Turn off all power saving features on the workstation (specifically the NIC) -No Shadow Copy of MAS 90 files -Increased the Kerberos ticket lifetime -Edited the registry to correct opportunistic locks -Delete invalid printers at all workstations

Maybe I'll put that in a separate white paper. I don't seem to run into these on more than one or two upgrades.

Good idea. The only thing I'd suggest is to point them to the MAS 90 Information Center in the app for resources. Sage is increasingly trying to keep that relevant to customers looking for tech info.

Hmm - I wonder how tough it would be to modify the resources tab and include our own resource -- link to a 90 Minds html page or similar...

I'm all in favor of doing stuff like this, however, I wonder how many IT folks will actually use that document, assuming they'll remember where it's located. I tend to think they'd be more likely to call for assistance instead.

Well another good thing is we have it in Dropbox -- you can send a copy to the IT folks. Overall I agree that not a lot of people will take the time to read it. Maybe it's more of a ""hey here's how to do it yourself or pay us to do it for you "" type leave behind.... and if you try and fail it will be more expensive for us to do it after the fact on an emergency basis. I'm ok with people self-supporting so long as they realize we're not the free ""quick question"" resource. I like customers who have strong internal MAS people -- and who also pay for our consulting annual plan.
