  • 1.  IIG's Consignment Merchandise Processing?

    Posted 04-24-2024 13:19

(I have a client asking about customer consignments... basically a trial period before purchase or return).

Does anyone have a customer using this enhancement?  Google pointed me to this page, but the PDF references v2016 so I am not sure this is a currently supported option, but it does look promising.

All feedback about this option (or consignments in general) is welcome.  I've read some discussion history, and don't see anything beyond recommendations to use a separate warehouse, and a maze of work-arounds.

I have reached out to IIG (via their website chat), but I'm really hoping to hear from 90-Minders who have experience with this enhancement.

I've reviewed a couple of IIG enhancements in the past, but they always seemed like they either weren't updated or were still a work in process. I don't have direct experience with them, so I may be basing my observation on just one or two enhancements that they didn't sell much of.

    Thanks Wayne.

I specifically asked whether the enhancement is used by many.  Not sure whether they will answer, but I asked.

We just inherited a client who has an IIG mod that they haven't used in years (Point of Sale), and indeed are an older version of Sage 100.   We're getting ready to upgrade them, and take the POS enhancement out, but IIG quoted us a fixed fee of 6 hours at $185 per hour to remove it.  That seemed a little excessive to us, but what do we know?  (I'm used to just calling Jon at DSD and he helps us do anything we need.  And as an endorsement, if DSD doesn't have it, we typically don't recommend it!)

Thanks Sue.  Yes, uninstalling enhancements is always fun.

(I agree... our experience with DSD is consistently positive as well).

    Response from IIG:

So... while I appreciate the honest answer, that's a no-go on recommending it for me.  It's too intricate an enhancement / process to be a pioneer.

Not familiar with that solution at all; and now I know why.  We have one client working with IIG for POS and CC processing.  They offer customizations in CC to allow multiple payments per sales order with all the payment detail tied to that sales order.  This client takes monthly payments while building and installing product, so they absolutely need multiple payments on Sales Order.  It takes them a long time to get enhancements up to the next version.  They are good to work with, but not quick.
