I haven't posed this question for a few years, but does anyone have any recent experience with IIG's POS software?  If so, did the implementation go well and how is their support?  Note:  Fusion POS is not an option for this client due to their recent experiences with Fusion.

    Thanks,
    Pam

Nothing with IIG. I have a customer who uses ACCUPOS for a very small POS need. For anyone with serious POS needs it always seems tough to find an integration to
Sage. Years ago I had someone try Retail Pro and that integration was mostly a GL entry that was passed to Sage.  I'm not sure if there still is a Retail Pro and if so whether the integration may have changed/improved.

We have a customer on Retail Pro... yes it is a GL import for sales (and an AP import for payables).

I adopted a client that uses IIG POS and IIG Credit Card.  Were on v2014 when we met, now upgraded to v2019. Even with the project manager they have known for years leaving just a few days before the upgrade; we got good response.  They willing got developers in different time zones to connect and research.  As to using it for POS, they really like it.  But really love the ability to take multiple credit cards in sales order entry.  We are working with Garen Mesropian.

We have 1 client using POS/CCP and 2 using  CCP only.
POS is a front end, mainly reconfigured SOIDE screens.

    We're fans.

BTW, I always take time to explain to the customer what they likely can - and cannot - get from a POS system that claims to integrate to Sage. Many times the customer has done their own research. Other times they've been sold a bill of goods by a salesperson from a point-of-sale company.

One time many years ago I had a company buy Sage 100 because their new point-of-sale system was supposedly fully integrated to Sage and ( so they claimed ) would read and write to inventory seamlessly.

Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. The customer returned the entire POS system ( which they claimed was $1 million for all their stores ).

Luckily, I had sat with the owner for about 1/2 an hour and forced him to listen to my pitch about what integration usually means for non-native 3rd party products. I feel that this candidness kept me from not being paid or blamed for the POS failure.

At this time I would explain to anyone looking for integrations to Sage 100 that the core use of Sage 100 is distribution and light manufacturing. I'd rather not get started down a path of failure and risk being sued or not paid. This has worked very well for me over the years as I've seen other consultants chase "off-brand" integrations and struggle to support and hold onto their customer.
