If I have 4.4 already setup (including all patchs, PU) and client subsequently purchases SPS and I want to activate credit card processing -- can I just stick in the new serial numbers or do I have to go through the whole dog and pony show of re-loading all the MAS modules?

    It's just the key change.

Just back- tested this out and as suggested all you need do is enter in the new keys and SPS worked like a champ... Setup was unbelievably simple (client moving from PC Charge). 1. Enter in new product key 2. Visit Company Maintenance - Server - turn on SPS 3. Visit AR - Setup - Payment Type Maintenance - key in the Terminal ID and Key Only slight glitch was we had to set the security code to be three character minimum size instead of 4 Everything else was as out-of-the-box as it could be. Client couldn't believe how quick the payments processed compared to their old dial-up modem.

that really isn't a glitch -- the CC security code is 3 for everything but AMEX, and I hear AMEX is going to be switching to 3 at some point.

Default when I looked at payment code setup was 4 characters. With that setting when we tried to process Mastercard the error was ""a minimum code size of 4 characters is required"" (or something resembling that message). We set the minimum to 3 and no further issues.

I usually set up a payment type for each type of card and adjust the security code accordingly.
