If an existing on premises client opts to switch to 100c, is there a migration path for their current database? I remember when Sage first launched subscription it was available to new installs only. Has this changed? If not, I don't know how Sage expects to get anyone to move from 100 to 100c...

Sage 100c is available for both new and existing users. The cost differential for existing users is supposed to be about 15% more however that probably varies depending upon whether the user can take advantage of some of the additional items bundled in with the various support packages. Existing users go to Sage 100 v2016 then enter in new keys. My understanding is that all the underlying functionality (at this point primarily UI) is baked into 2016 and turned on or off by the proper key. If a user is already on 2016, it's a key only upgrade. All data is the same.

You need to input the new Product key and then it should enable the ""C"" interface. There are no new programs to install if you are on V2016

Kathryn, it sounds like you might be confusing the subscription pricing with a hosted/cloud version. 100c is still an on premises version. And as Wayne and Jim explained it's really just a new version using the exact same local data set.
