    If a customer uses a Sales Promotion on a line, is there a way to report on that after invoicing? We are exploring using Sales Promotions to handle a customer challenge. One requirement is to run a monthly reporting showing the line items shipped by Sales Promotion group. It's not clear that we can do that. v4.5,

    Don't see Promotions in Invoice detail or Invoice History detail line fields. Maybe do report with selection by actual price and date-range.

    Price override flag? Wonder if the sale triggers this.

    Thanks for the feedback. We are pretty sure that the SP is used only to prime the price, as a template and leave no further breadcrumbs. the challenge we have is a bit odd. Their ""promotions"" apply to certain customers and aren't time-bounded. At this point we think Price Level will do nicely, since that datum is stored in the detail line. Now we can run reports for the month showing rollups of IM items within each Price Level, simplifying their adjusting JE's for promotions and use taxes (items given away), and also by Influencer (customer).

    I think this question came up about a year ago. From memory the solutions were mostly ""add a UDF"" type ideas.

    We essentially press the PL field into use as it would be a UDF. This experience has raised this general question, ""What sort of reports do Sage 100 customers using Sales Promotions run to gauge the effectiveness of their promotions?

    Sage CRM marketing campaigns might be a solution for judging effectiveness. Gauging the effectiveness of a promotion isn't all about how many widgets were sold in one period compared to another - it also concerns the clients effectiveness in getting the word out to the market about the promotion, so CRM might help measure how many people notified and the how many responded would be from the measure on the ERP side or CRM too if they create orders that way.
