I would say my least favorite support call is for inventory valuation. They usually take a long period of time to verify / research / reproduce and in many cases are the result of Sage bugs that take an equally long period of time to fix and the customer looks at you as if you should be logging in to individually correct the wrong values.

Can't argue with you there. Have two issues with the same client - one involves average costing (Sage bug corrected in PU8?) and the other is the inventory turn report that I posted yesterday. And if it isn't a Sage issue, then it is an issue training the client to post their receipts before posting transaction before invoicing. Otherwise, they have negative tiers and incorrect average costing........

I agree. Seems like since we went to 4.4 and inventory is in the new business framework, these kind of calls and issues with clients having trouble with valuations have increased significantly. Two of them it looks like it may have resolved with PU8. The issues I have had have been with Average Cost, FIFO, and Lot items on different customers. The way the inventory trial balance report calculates now scares me. And most of these issues all have gone back to Sage bugs. How do you explain to a customer that needs good inventory detail reports for a bank that we can't rely on them because of a bug in the software?

Some of the adjustments are nearly impossible to figure out. Customer just called. FIFO item has 1 in stock showing. Yet someone did an adjustment for 1. Yet the costing is pulling incorrect .75 instead of 80.00 I just throw my hands up and DFDM the things sometimes. I know it's not right but the corrections require 8 hours of trial and error on $80 item...
