Sage 100

I would like to uninstall the Sage Advisor completely from the Sage 100 server. Does anyone know if it would cause any issues down the road?

I'd be curious about this as well.

@WayneSchulz I just removed it from a test install and everything seems to be OK so far.

@JohnLeonard, did you simply uninstall it via Windows Control Panel? Did that also remove the Service? Also, please keep us posted if you notice any issues going forward.

I did the uninstall via the Windows Control Panel and it did remove the service as well.

Re: ""15 Things To Know Before Starting Sage 100 ERP 2013 Upgrade - Google Drive"" (https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/16837016), I added this note to #5 Disable Sage Advisor Update (SAU): UPDATE: Sounds like you may just be able to uninstall SAU via Windows Control Panel, which also removes the SAU Service.

I kind of like the Sage Advisor because it makes installing the PU a one click (yeah customers should probably not do this). Any particular reason to remove?

For me, the less spyware the better.

LOL, @WayneSchulz, from ""15 Things to Know..."" doc, the ""Why"" from #5: To prevent installing an Update or anything prematurely, especially if there's modifications / enhancements installed. lol Seems like nowadays a vanilla non-modified/enhanced Sage 100 system is rare.

64K question - if you run an update (not through advisor) on Sage 100 does the advisor reinstall?

FYI - I reinstalled the PU and it did not reinstall Sage Advisor.
