I would like to know if anyone is using the 100C web interface in a remote office and if they see a performance boost compared to ""regular"" Sage 100. I have a few clients using 100 advanced that have remote offices using a VPN that is extremely slow when the client is installed on the remote office workstation. The workaround is to use remote desktop.

i don't think 100c would make a different since it's not really a web interface. 100 and 100c are identical behind the new launcher.

For Sage 100 advanced, are you using the CS ODBC client? That might speed things up for Crystal and other ODBC uses. I would think it would be double dog slow with Sage Intelligence however. Otherwise, I agree with @BillPfahnl. Remote desktop all the way.

Yes, using odbc. User has a small office in CA. Ping speed is 50ms (sage recommends minimum 30-40ms). Screen refresh is excruciatingly slow so now using rdp which works well. I was fishing for a good reason someone may want to switch to 100c other than the new ui.

@BillPfahnl I am not a 300 consultant and my understanding is that 300c can be run from a smartphone or any web browser. 300c must use a different technology (like html 5) to render the screens. I didn't realize ProvideX would allow the screen panels to display in a web browser.

Since 100 advanced is server side processing and the odbc service makes crystal client side printing speeds acceptable, I believe the bottleneck on vpn to be the screen refresh. Just clicking on a menu item takes 15 seconds to display without using rdp. I thought that maybe a web based screen rendering might improve performance.

@WayneSchulz I read this article yesterday. It is what prompted my questions about 100c. 300c is using html 5 to display the screens. That allows the screen to automatically format to a smartphone. Apparently this is different technology then what 100c is using. I wonder why.

Before I concluded that 300c would automatically format to a smartphone I'd look at a demo. I sense this may be a little more elegant way to present the screens but still likely had formatting and navigation challenges on anything that's less than a tablet size. I'm purely speculating.
