I was wondering, in general, have clients reported issues with printing after upgrading to 2013/2014? The issues are just too varied to go through in detail right now, but for one example, a label is printing to one thermal printer just fine, but condensed/compressed to another printer (see attachment). Another example is the generic ""Sage has stopped working"" when printing to a valid printer. If this sounds familiar to some, do we need to go through the steps of uninstalling/reinstalling the printer, updating the driver, other? Anything else that has helped? Thanks in advance.

For the ""Sage has stopped working"" if it's check printing and you upgraded the form from prior to 2013 then you have to either fix the stub section formula which uses the old U25store.dll or create a new form code. It's talked about here somewhere. For other bizarre issues, speaking for myself I've fixed many by installing the current Crystal Reports 2011 SP7 or higher at each workstation (use the 32-bit MSI). There's a thread on it somewhere. Also for 2013 and 2014 a recent service pack would be a good idea as they have some important printing fixes.

Thanks, Alnoor. I can only put the client on 5.00.4 at this time, and I have installed the CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_7 on each terminal server, since users export a lot of reports to Excel. Is that the one you are referring to?

Yes that one (actually it's the SP9 cousin). Besides the export problem it's resolved some inconsistent print hangs. But I guess not in this case for you. For thermal and label printing inconsistencies, even in 4.x, when there were multiple printers I got into habit of creating a separate printers under Devices and Printers. Then configuring separate properties for each one.
