General Consultant Discussion

I was recently having a discussion and that person mentioned that when looking for consultants, one prior industry that would be good to take from is someone with military experience. Reasons are: they have been trained to work as a team; they are persistent and won't give up until the job is done; they are used to long hours; and they have had to deal with many types of people. What other types of industries would a good consultant come from?

I like bookkeeping - though you have to be very careful to be sure the person is comfortable playing all positions. In other words some bookkeepers only want to balance cash -- and are afraid of taking on new modules that they may not have worked with (which clients increasingly expect).
