I was looking at the size of some files in a client's data folders in 100 today and saw two files which appeared to be inexplicably large. The file names are AR_CustomerPricingWrkANH020114504858.M4T and AR_CustomerPricingWrkANH020609187887.M4T. These are found in the AR*** folder where *** is the company ID. Some old, faint memory in the back of my head is whispering that wrk files with long id's like these can be deleted. Before I implement something based upon a possibly reconstructed memory, I thought it best to get a second opinion first. Thoughts? Am I about to run the ship afoul of a large while marshmallow or is that ice ahead?

Delete them (or if unsure, zip them up). These are temporary work files created when printing reports and forms. Anything with 'wrk' or 'work' plus a user ID and time stamp are such files. Whenever I'm connected to a clients system I always serach for *.wrk*?.M4T and move any matches out of the MAS90 folder and subfolders.

Those are the temporary work files created when a report is run. The user's initials, the date, then the rest of the string are the individual ID for the particular work file. You can delete any time since they are supposed to be deleted by MAS once the report is run/closed.

Your faint memory is correct. Those long file name WRK files are temporary files that can be deleted. Usually left if a print job is abnormally stopped. Marshmallows ahoy!!

And the reason they are so big is because that new Customer Pricing report is totally worthless and HUGE.

Just to throw my two cents in, delete the files......... For some reason, I notice a lot of these files in GL data folders

Just had to delete a ton with a customer on Monday. ""Why aren't they deleted if they're supposed to be?"" .......
