I was discussing Purchases Clearing (ugh!) with another partner (to purge or not to purge obsolete PO's and the effect on the new PO history in v2015). Am I the only who hadn't realized you could modify the panel to research incomplete PO's by simply looking here??? Way cool!!!

There is so much potential in PO History, it just takes time to dig into the potential so we can advise the end user. Would be great to use this post as a forum for tricks and tips of the new tables. One thing I have discovered is that the Purge obsolete PO utility ALSO purges the PO's from the history tables. I am trying to determine an optimal way to clean the crap out for purchases clearing from 4 years ago. I ran the purge thinking only the open table would be affected, but it also cleared the history. Probably a WAD but not what I desired. Back to the drawing board for clearing 250 PO's.

@JeffSchwenk - Diane Coffman says if you have the delete set to PROMPT in the setup options, the Purge Utility will ask for the reason code and keep the history out there with the appropriate code. I haven't tried it...

A BIG hats off to @BethBowers for the tip which allowed me to purge obsolete PO's but retain the history. It only took 10 minutes of staring to locate the correct setting. See image to save some time in your search. Now client ONLY has six pages of open purchases clearing to clean up instead of 16. What a great group.
