I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new fees that we discussed yesterday. 90 MINDS TECHNICAL (Formerly OASIS) PER OFFICE FEES $ 500 for first person - $ 250/ea additional 90 MINDS SENIOR MEMBERS PER OFFICE FEES $ 200 for first person - $ 100/ea additional Pro-rated: - Paid prior to April - full fee - Paid after April - 1/2 fee - No other pro-rate

I can't find anything pertaining to renewal rates which I thought had been discussed. Was the concensus to discount renewals or are the above the rates for all?

  • 3.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 09:08
Are we announcing the switch from OASIS to 90 Minds Technical (did we vote on that name? I think it could be improved on ...)?

  • 4.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 09:18
My memory is that this will be the renewal rates. I think we should not provide incentive for people who are not participating to hang on under the ""well it's just $100"" to renew theory...

  • 5.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 09:19
I think we came to a decision that OASIS would become 90 Minds Tech and the remaining ""Full "" members would be 90 Minds Senior Member? I do not believe we announced it.

  • 6.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 09:25
That was my understanding that we were changing. I thought we had decided by concensus. Makes sense from a branding standpoint,.

  • 7.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 10:09
I'm good with the change but are we sticking with the name? Here's a few alternatives: 90 Minds Full vs 90 Minds Technical 90 Minds vs 90 Minds Technical 90 Minds Premium membership vs 90 Minds Basic membership 90 Minds Full vs 90 Minds Access Level 90 Minds Senior Member vs 90 Minds Junior Member 90 Minds Full Member vs 90 Minds Essentials Member 90 Minds Full Member vs 90 Minds Value Member 90 Minds Core vs 90 Minds Non-core I think ""Technical"" is a mis-nomer and there are other benefits to non-full members.

  • 8.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 10:21
Why not 90 Minds vs 90 Minds OASIS?

  • 9.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 10:30
I just would like to avoid people asking ""what's OASIS"" - other than that I don't much care. LOL at 90 Minds Core vs Non-Core -- Two Thumbs Up ... And the membership guide for core vs non-core comes with a long winded 80 page manual explaining what core vs non-core means.

  • 10.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 10:56
Senior or Premium I can live with though Senior has been on my mind for the past couple of months. I think we should rename the OASIS side 90 Minds Technical. it describes what is envolved very concisely..

  • 11.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 11:11
90 Minds Senior 90 Minds Affiliate I have to read over Peter's list though because he takes credit for all my f* ideas..

  • 12.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 11:12
I don't think OASIS is really strictly technical any more. YMMV.

  • 13.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 11:41
I agree with Robert. OASIS isn't just technical and that is my concern. People might see ""Technical"" and pass but it's more about collaboration and communication. Along those lines: 90 Minds Full vs 90 Minds Alliance membership 90 Minds Full vs 90 Minds Collaborative membership 90 Minds Full vs 90 Minds Cooperative

  • 14.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 11:48
I stole the names for our different support contract levels from Apple (usually good marketing folks). In order from best to least parrticipation: Alliance, Preferred, Select That leads to these options - which I kind of like: 90 Minds Alliance vs 90 Minds Preferred 90 Minds Preferred vs 90 Minds Select 90 Minds Alliance vs 90 Minds Select

  • 15.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 13:12
I think a generic suffix to 90 minds for the 90 Minds Technical makes more sense. At this point it's the 90 Minds cool kids vs. the 90 Minds not cool kids.

Not a fan of ""senior"" ... it implies age vs activity / value. I defer to groupmind though.

if core vs non-core teaches anything it's that words matter. They frame perceptions for all involved. I think it warrants a little bit of thought as the potential for 90 Minds is very high right now.

  • 21.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 17:52
That's why I was thinking 90 Minds and 90 Minds OASIS. OASIS doesn't really mean anything. It doesn't need to mean anything. It just means we're different groups but we're not really. My .02.

  • 22.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 19:15
I'm good with that. It can always morph into something down the road. OASIS is now 90 Minds OASIS. Makes sense to me.

  • 23.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 07-25-2012 19:50
I'll defer to your judgement - I only really care that we have a quick and easy way to explain the difference beween them. I think we can come up with a standard explanation pretty easily.

I am fine with pruning inactive members. I also feel we need to tier our OASIS level member fees so first year is affordable and if they aren't invited to full 90 Minds their renewal is double. Lets not set ourselves up as a network for semi retired and/or unskilled consultants.

  • 44.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 05:28
Wayne just brought a very interesting aspect of billing 90 Minds (full) inductees when there are their firm have other members in OASIS. Where do these OASIS members fall with regards to billing purposes? Do we now split bill (one at 90Minds rate, others at OASIS rate) or do we consider all in the lower 90Minds rate but they remain OASIS only with regards to SocialCast? I just assumed we would split bill (possibly at the additional user rate) which would give the other users incentive to increase their partcipation or drop out. Group thought?

  • 45.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 05:39
We have always said only one 90 Minds member has to be active for the firm to be considered 90 Minds. So my understanding is so long as one firm member is 90 Minds (full) then all the other members of the firm pay the 90 Minds renewal. I believe this is how we've always treated it though the addition of OASIS makes it a bit different though I recommend we continue to offer lower office rates as a 90 Minds benefit. I think it's acceptable to allow in others from a 90 Minds member office at the lower rate - even if those folks never fully participate. It should be one of the perks of 90 Minds.

  • 46.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 06:26
The ""club"" used to be fun when we ran it out of the tree house. We could limit it to our friends, NO girls, make gross body sounds, have a secret handshake and just have a few rules like participate and show up to meetings. Growth is such a bitch - strangers appearing at the door, an actual accounting system, GIRLS and now the need to visit the dues issue. In the old days of single tier membership, it was easier to add additional firm members to the group, even if only one was an active participant. Membership should have its rewards though! Now that we have the OASIS group, I think we should only give price breaks to those that actively participate. Those that just post when in dire need should pay the higher rate........

  • 47.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 06:46
    - Setup automated billing - make people pay online - Structure the dues so people self filter Why growth is necessary. A LARGE portion of 90 Minds members will go out of business. None of them will post online to tell anyone that (didn't Brian Buck just casually mention that he was going to work for a customer?). If we sit on our hands we're going to find that over time members leave. We cannot sustain a technical group when members leave on a regular basis. Rather we must plan that there will be attrition. The Sage organization is changing on an almost monthly basis. There is safety in active numbers for referrals to other products, assistance with technical issues, etc. All of the above is why it's important to develop a repeatable procedure to deal with this growth. In the old days we could have sent an email politely requesting dues -- and only done that every three years. I disagree that you should separate out employees at 90 Minds firms with respect to dues. Those who are 90 Minds and their company employees should all fall under the same dues structure. You will make yourself a nightmare of trying to sort through who participates, who doesn't, etc. I would rather continue to see that one active 90 Minds member per firm carries the firm as a member (this is no change from how we have always run the group). The dues structure self-filter out the lurkers so that the initial OASIS type joiner fee is reasonable and we are transparent that the people have one year to become active and be invited to join 90 Minds or they're going to pay a higher renewal rate (by setting the renewal rate higher we want them to drop out). If you don't set that higher renewal rate you have to sit on the phone and listen to a sob story about why they couldn't participate or engage in endless email arguments about their bad luck and why they were inactive. I already see OASIS people who seem to have joined just to occasionally ask an emergency question. In my mind that value is probably 5 to 10 times what we charged them. Personally if those people don't become active after a year I'd like them to self-filter and leave. .02

  • 48.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 07:16
Wayne, I am not complaining about the growth. I am all for it. It does require that we look at things a bit differently. The ONLY question on the table is do we reward the entire organization because we invite ONE member into the inner circle. We did in the past because there was one group. There are now two. If you want to self filter, then we should keep the two structures in place even when one member moves up. If the firm wants a lower overall rate, then they can encourage others to participate. Splitting a firm into two tiers for billing purposes is not difficult to do once the list is created. Excel will do this very nicely. I think we should wait and see what next months renewal results in before we tweak the renewal rates by adding a new rate tier for renewals.

  • 49.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 17:38
I think the original reasoning in extending the lowered pricing to the entire firm, partially, was to provide an added benefit to those firms that hire a 90 Minds member. If we did change it, would the 90 Minds member be the first license and then the subsequent licenses be $250 or would the firm pay the full price for the first one and the 90 Minds member pay the reduced rate of a second license? What if the 90 Minds member is the only license?

  • 50.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-27-2012 17:42
90Minds would be the lead license, everything after that would be the tiers secondary license amount.

  • 51.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

My thought was the same as Robert's. If someone in your firm maintain a 90Minds then all the staff of that company would get that beneifit.

  • 63.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-29-2012 09:26
We will have more than one expulsion so we should probable create a formal email notification that accounts will be deactivate on xx/xx/xx. Seems like it would be the polite thing to give people 7 days notice so they could get anything out that they need. I recommend that we adopt a fee strategy that says if the person drops from 90 Minds due to non-payment then they can only re-enroll at the OASIS higher rate and must be re-invited back to full 90 Minds after the first year. We are not the babysitter...

  • 64.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

I'll send her a note back saying she will be deactivated on September 7. This will give her time to delete anything which shouldn't be much...................... I agree with Wayne on the form letter. Guess I'll handle that aspect as well.

  • 75.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 08-31-2012 04:50
I think we have a limited # of 90 Minds emails that we can add to that free Google Apps account. Which raises the question of whether we'd adopt a paid Apps for all members and add in each person with an @90minds.com. Personally I don't think we're there yet - and it would cost us $50/person. Down the road we may want to do that as Google+ expands their Apps interaction. For now I'd suggest we create a ""contact us"" page and filter contacts to a central place then re-distribute. Members still get a link to their web site. .02

    Posted 08-31-2012 04:52
Do we have a list of people we're dropping? If so - then a final ""you're going to be removed on xx/xx/xx"" should be sent with emphasis on the fact that payment (not promise) must be received BEFORE that date. Have OASIS been invoiced yet? @JimWoodhead have we heard from Socialcast about our next year renewal? I'll be very curious to see if it remains the same and personally I feel we won't have any idea on seat count for OASIS as they're even more likely to drop and/or go to the very last deadline day.

And also late payers will only come back in as OASIS at the higher rate and will have their account suspended until payment is received.

Haven't been to the bank to see what is in today. I did send a note to Dawn about her account. I think you and Robert got a copy of that. Several people have said they plan to pay. Being a softy, I gave them and weeks extension. No one else has said they are definitely dropping. No OASIS has not been billed. That will start next week.

Robert, is there any way we can get a dump of SC seat license assignments so I can cross reference these two the invoicing?

Yup! I got the note to disable Dawn's account tomorrow. It's on my calendar, so if I'm awake at 12:01...

There is an export. I clicked it. It says it emailed it to me. I haven't gotten it yet. If I don't get it in a few minutes, I'll pull it another way.

Still no email. I'm going to screen scrape it.

is Dawn deactivated? I thought an ""archive"" banner would appear beneath her picture when this happened. So far, Ed W is the only one having issues raising the $200. Will find out today if he is making the traveling team or not.

I say de-activate and let these people swing. If they can't come up with $200 they can be sent the link to the free Sage community. Same for OASIS folks.

She is deactivated...now. I didn't actually turn my computer on all weekend.

Ed's firm is an odd one.

Any odder than Dawn's??? To have to think about the $200.....

  • 92.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 09-04-2012 06:49
Probably about the same level, but different kinds of odd. I've known Ron Pellum for 13 years or so. They have an odd approach to things. It's probably a good conversation to have over drinks.

    Posted 09-04-2012 07:00
Rick @ C&G (Dawn's firm) is really an odd duck. At President's Circle, when he got on stage, I yelled ""Great job, Rick"" and afterwards he came over and said ""It's a bit much Peter"". I was like... what the ****?! I still can't figure out what he meant by that. I wasn't the only one shouting for folks. And going forward ... anyone that needs to think more than 5 seconds about the value (200 freaking dollars!) of 90 Minds should be given an electric shock to the genitals.

We picked up a prospect who had been holding a laptop from Ed's firm that they had dropped off as a demo unit a year prior. This was their MAS 90 demo machine. They hadn't returned phone calls and wouldn't come pick it up. These folks were ready to buy. They ended up buying from us instead since we returned their calls. True story!

Actually, yes. They customer had one of their employees take it back to them I think.

@JeffSchwenk what does being an Alumni mean in 90minds?

  • 99.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 09-16-2012 11:58
Any Alumni does not have access to Socialcast and their prior posts and comments still appear but their image has ""Alumni"" under it. They have no other benefits or access.

It means you get to pay full OASIS fees if you want back in.

I agree, to get back in, you start at the beginning...... Now that the 90Minds membership is decided on for the next year, we can add the new member information and delete the alumni. I have information from all the newbies. They sent it to me a couple weeks back. Let me know how you want to handle it.

Thanks. Except Louis I did not find any of the other lapsed members in our detailed ""find a member"" table. I think the ones who left are all members who never paid initially.

Start the countdown to the email from Big Louie... he's the only one I might expect to hear from though Ed may contact us if he runs into trouble and suddenly finds he needs to ask a question.

We also have a large number of 90 Minds members who I'm uncertain if they are still members -- I think we've been posting them on our site for a while - Cindy Barone, Kathy Purkiss, etc.

  • 109.  RE: I updated the ""join us"" page online with the new f

    Posted 09-17-2012 05:57
Barone is out, Purkiss is in. Also, Sharon from Hawaii (if she is listed is out), Still suffering a bit from an intestinal bug picked up on Friday. Was not a pleasant ride from SFO to Dulles on Sunday. Luckily, I was only four rows from the WC and no one was sitting in my row. When I fly for this client again, I'll be going business class again. Good news was that it was a five hour direct flight, bad news was that it was a five hour direct flight in economy. Regarding the e-mail from the slow/non pokes, they were ALL adequately warned. My only concer is if a check shows up in a day or so.

Cindy Barone fell off with the move to Socialcast. She couldn't figure it out. Some how she managed to get on the DSD Socialcast. I think Kathy Purkiss is still around. She's even posted within the last 30 days, I believe.
