I tried out a couple of searches on the new KB this morning - totally worthless. I took some phrases from some that I had printed out and saved (like ""Cannot create sort file"" or ""error 47 in GLWMDB"") and got nothing. Yippity skippity.

Is there a different link to the new portal?

The link is https://partners.sagenorthamerica.com/ I just tried the ""Cannot create sort file"" search with MAS 90/200 selected, and one of the results was the Accpac payroll user guide. ""Yippity skippity"" is much too polite...

Oh, Phil, I keep my 12-letter comments to myself. Well, and the dogs. Thank goodness they can't talk - all I can think of is the baby in Meet the Fockers (or a sequel) saying ""asssssHOLE"". I can just see the dogs greeting Grandma when she comes to babysit with my potty mouth...

And it looks like you have to personalize the product display to see the unlocking key column

I received my login information based on the company name and address from 4 years ago, not my current information.

Not sure but at least one link that I copied/pasted into an incognito tab in Chrome appeared to open - meaning at least some of the posts may not require a login to access

I went into the system to find my name is 'Paul Siliak' - a nice play on a regrettable middle school nickname - Silly Ass - and they assigned me the role of 'Bookkeeper'.

They're using the phonetic data conversion technique then?

My poor mother who was so proud of me all those years ago when I passed the CPA exam. She told me then ""You worked so hard, and no one will ever be able to take that from you."" Sorry ma, Sage did. ;)

it's the middle school nickname derivative technique! I always preferred ""mouse ears"" to ""silly ass"" personally, but they didn't ask me.

This should be good if, as reported, Sage is using their own KB internally for support.

Just had a customer call with a ""crystal lockfile"" error. That's a fairly unique keyword. I put it in quotes. Took it out of quotes. Zero results returned.

I hope the customers don't get too excited about their 5 phone calls. Since they can't find anything on the web, they'll be burning through those in no time. As will the resellers. NEW PROFIT CENTER.

By the way, if you have any outstanding support cases, they all have new numbers now.

The only customer I heard from so far today is one with all Mac computers and only Safari as a browser. They forwarded an email from Sage saying they 'hope someday to offer additional browsers'.

    Posted 02-27-2012 13:06
On Friday a client decides they want to purchase a new module, but of course the systemes are down until today so the order gets placed today. Around noon I get an email with the new unlock key - so far so good. I go to put it in and realize that the customer number has changed, so I put that in and click on ""Activate"" All seems well. I get out of MAS 200 (I mean Sage 100 Advanced) and then go to log back in and the logon just sits there. Finally it comes back with a timeout error. So I try and logon in ""MAS 90"" mode and I get an ""invalid activation key"" error. So I think ""now I am really screwed"", as I can't get into MAS at all. I copy the activate.pvx file from an old backup and was able to get back in and put in all of the ""old"" activation information. Now at least users should be able to login to MAS. Now I call support and put in my new partner id at the voice prompts and the voice prompt ignores me and keeps telling me to enter it. Finally I get routed from to support to one of the sales people who puts me in touch with someone who ""can regenerate the key for me"" When I speak with that person they ask if they can email me the key because they ""need to figure out how regenerate a key"". I hope things don't go downhill from here...

@JohnLeonard let us know how long it takes for them to figure out how to regenerate keys.

    Posted 02-27-2012 13:29
Well, I just called them back and was told that she had asked someone to do it for her because ""there must something different"" about this client because usually you just click on ""generate keys"". I'm thinking that there must be something different about the whole frickin system as in IT DOES NOT WORK.

I can't even get it to list support tickets - the cursor spins for many moons and eventually says ""Internet Explorer cannot display this web page

Phil, I think you need to add ""Compatibility view"" in IE. Go to Tools, Compatibility view settings and add the site there.

Sage responded to one of my comments about not being able to see any results for ""crystal lockfile"" by suggesting it works but I need to remove quotes. I'll test later.

  • 28.  RE: I tried out a couple of searches on the new KB thi

    Posted 02-28-2012 02:27
Just tested - still no results. I'm thinking that maybe the browser I'm using (Chrome) could be the issue. And yet I know that only one version of IE is supported -- I'm on a MAC and don't have an easy solution.

Tested on IE9, IE9 with IE7 mode turned on. Same results of ""no results"".

I'm using IE8, used no quotes, and got nothing. They must be searching the old site. :-)

Okay, just how do you see the notes on old cases that transferred over on the new site???

OK I finally got the news keys. Apparently they had to create them on the old system.

Let's hope they don't abandon that old system too soon...

I am looking through the list of customers that transferred to the new site, and not all the customers are there. I thought perhaps it was missing the ones not active on a plan, but even ones active on a plan are not there. Are they still transferring data, or perhaps did some customers get lost or aligned to another account during this transition?

    Posted 02-28-2012 08:09
Sage is claiming that I cannot see certain KB searches due to security rights on my account -- which they are fixing. The search I tried was for the MAS 90 200 product and I searched crystal lockfile Which returned no results. I mentioned others in the group had similar results and that the issue may be wider than just one account. Perhaps they create some type of group?..

Sometimes I think I have forgotten more than they'll ever know.................. Does anyone really think they have fully tested this system? Just like all of their other code, they get it just past the alpha phase so they can call it beta and then we get to test it for them. Then they charge us a support case to fix it. Where do I get into the game? Buy Sage stock?????

It also appears none of the Sage CRM codes made it across...guess they don't really want us to install the free user after all

I can guarantee we will soon be saying, after 3 + years of implementation, millions of dollars of funding that could have gone to improving their own products, that 'Atlas' is going to suck much more than what it replaced. To think intelligent indexing search is now childs play in the world of Google, we get this crap?

They used to pound into our heads to make sure we set the customer's expectations correctly. I guess they didn't do a good job here or you all didn't read between the lines! What do you want from a 7 year project!

Sage just fixed whatever issue was preventing me from seeing any search results for the keywords: MAS90/200 Product Line crystal lockfile (do not use quotes when searching) Check it on your account (if you originally noticed the same problem)

Definitely better. I used the ""Cannot create sort file"" I tried before and got much better results. Still not the one I wanted, though, which has to do with the payroll Employer's Expense Summary. I'm wondering if it was for version 3.71 (but is still valid on 4.50) and if they dropped support issues for versions that are no longer supporting (without thinking it through on the non-framework modules, which often will still have the same issues they've always had).
