I think we should make a group investment in GotoWebinar. I think on a yearly payment it's $948. The account would allow for up to 100 participants at one time (Goto Meeting only allows for 10). You can also send out invitations and allow people to sign up on their own.

It's probably a good idea. The key is you MUST reserve the room in advance (that might be an automatic requirement with webinar). Otherwise you risk an embarrasing conflict For whatever reason, we got the webinar feature for free on our gotomeeting account, although we don't use it much.

Webinar can be used as a backup Gotomeeting too -- which is nice. When you create the webinars they are listed online so we could see who has a session scheduled. Citrix has several variations of GotoMeeting that they label differently (GotoMeeting, GotoWebinar, GotoTraining) - they all seem to do pretty much the same thing with slightly different options (# of concurrent users, ability to have the Goto system manage sign ups, ability to give participants some type of quiz/test).

It's a good idea. It would also be a great benefit to the members.

I'm going to look at our finances and see what is left over. I think we have enough to pay for a year. Separate thread but I think we should generate $250 renewals as of 9/1/2011 for each 90 Mind member. That might also help us weed out the lurkers who are here but are not participating. If they don't perceive value they won't pay and we can drop them as of 9/30/11.

I'm ressurecting this thread. I think this would be a great example of an easy to use shared resource that we could use. Any way we could take a vote on this and make it happen this month?

Just to be clear - I'm currently scheduling out monthly webinars for 2012 and my long-standing committment to frugality compels me to use a shared license instead of forking over a grand on my own..

I still think it's a good idea.

@PeterWolf You cheap bastard - so far as I'm concerned we'd just need to decide on whether we want one or two of these - but i think we'd get approval to move forward

Any real reason to get more than one? We probably need a calendar showing when it is scheduled and who would be responsible for scheduling its use?

I can't think of any reason - only if we needed to have simultaneous use. Looks like about $1,000 if we prepay for a year. I'm good with it and think it would be a good benefit and we could easily justify it just for the 90 Minds use. We could probably borrow a member account -- DSD I know has GOTO -- however then we'd be dealing with possible date conflicts with what they're scheduling, etc.

Yes that's true too - so long as it's pre-scheduled. We could also offer it for on-demand support since I believe the license for GotoWebinar also works identically as GotoMeeting -- so partners who on occasion need a remote connection could save the $50/mo and just borrow this when available.

Gotomeeting have a calendar embedded with it. DSD shares one login across the company. ( Professional services, Sales, and our DSD enhancement team. We don't have a lot of conflicts the question, but is how many can share one login.. I know that we probably utilitize our about 5% per month. but .....

Right now, each of my guys has their own gotomeeting which is used for support. They all use it fairly regularly - it might have to do with the fact that 99% of our support is done remotely. Not sure.
