I think I know the answer here. V2016 Payroll. Customer currently imports payroll and now would like to add a negative deduction import after the first import. It's not feasible to add it to the payroll import. My question is - you can't run an import to payroll and then do a 2nd import with employee #, entry #, deduction code, amount and have it add it to the entry can you?

Have you tested it? I think I have had issues in the past with the Auto-deduction but I recommend testing.

I would think you can. I've had clients whose input sheets required multiple imports and while they have just been EARNINGS, it still adds to the record out there just fine.

I also think you should be able to do this, but I think you may have to import the deduction first with H. Automatic Deductions set to No. Then import what would have been the first import with H. Automatic Deductions set to Yes. I'm thinking you might get double deductions otherwise.

Jane, are you saying the order of the imports is important? The H.AutoDeduct set to N and Y and that makes sense, but curious as to the order of the imports.

I switched the order because of the auto deducts, but it may not matter. I was thinking of the final setting of the Payroll Data Entry Header screen and the Automatic Deductions check box.

Kudos to @JaneCavanaugh & @BethBowers - I created the job, ran is first and then the regular payroll import and all appears to be fine. Love this 90minds group!
