I spoke with Brian Nunes of Website Pipleine and Sean Munzert of Avalara at the Mapadoc conference tonight. I brought up that we were finalizing sponsorships for the 2014 MotM but we had limited spots. They both were interested in the details and Sean indicated high commitment. Is this finalized enough that I can reach out to them both or is someone else already doing this? I could also reach out to a few other vendors if no one else has taken this task on.

Yes it's final and Peter if you want to provide the link to our pricing that would be great. We are going to offer first shot for our returning vendors and after that we can open it up to others. Give me a couple minutes this morning to clear my desk - may not be until this afternoon when I post the info for you.

I think our prior year paid sponsors were: Altec I cannot remember who paid for lunchs -- @JimWoodhead ?

I think Avalara sponsored something last year ... didn't they? I remember Russ being around for a bit. (Maybe I'm confusing it with previous years though) Also didn't the guys from Dimension Funding come by? I'm not sure they sponsored anything though.

Dimension (Tony Brown) came buy but didn't pay for anything. Was it just Avalara and Altec who paid anything?

I think that's it. I can't recall any other vendors. Sage came by but they didn't pay for squat.

And to be clear - nobody is going to be confirmed without a check. We're not going to put someone on the agenda when they've not paid. In my mind that extends to Sage but I'm open to discussion on that.

Jim do you have contacts at Avalara and Altec and want to coordinate with Peter on sending a link to that sponsor opportunity sheet? Because it's a link to a document we have the capability to make changes or add an FAQ even after we've sent (which I think is better than sending a static PDF? )

I would say ScanForce instead of scanco but that my opinion. You might add high jump/true commerce Not sure about swk or blytheco. But again that my opinion.

Thanks Jim - that's why I'm asking - I can go to Scanforce too and will add in High Jump / True Commerce. What about the contact for Altec? Is it Kevin or should I reach out to someone else?

My contact at Altec is Richard Simmons. At Avalara, It is Russ Graf but I am not sure those are still the right people. But a good starting point.

By all means, if they ask for sponsorship send them the information. Let's see they are willing to sponsor our event. Getting 5 sponsors would be awesome.

I will be making calls today and tomorrow. I've casually spoken to three people and have three interested parties. Should we extend another sponsorship? Snacks? Let me see where we are by mid-week.

Let's make sure Altec and Avalara have the info in hand so they can decide on whether to sponsor as I think it's only fair to provide them a chance to return. I do not think we want to offer lower level sponsorships (less $$) and have to deal with more sponsors at the event -- or do we? I certainly am of the opinion that we cannot have more vendor speakers because that really takes away from our learning time.
