I seem to have a mental block. How does one add the comment from the cash receipt entry to the CR Journal. version 4.3

Is there NOT a comment field? Perhaps in the secondary panel? Now I believe you have to add a UDF to the cash receipts history table to store the comment if you want to reprint the comment in the history report.

I do not see a comment field in the wrk file nor in the CR details. Thanks

That is my point. YOu have to add a UDF in those tables to print and save the comment to history.

I'm showing it in my version 4.3 CR Journal. Field name = AR_CashReceiptsJournalWrk.Comment

@ChrisStAmand - Good catch. One of the problems with old versions is that they don't always with later version of workstation installs. When I tried to launch the cash receipts journal update, Sage complained that my workstation was not up to day. Because of this, I could not open DFDM to view the wrk table for updating. However, I still stand by my comment regarding the missing field in the CR receipts history table. Not sure what the value of the comment field is if it only appears on the update report. I also find it strange that the invoice DATE is not saved in the history table. Makes it difficult to calculate average days to pay outside of the standard Sage days to pay calculation. The field is somewhat available in the transaction payment history table but it seems awkward to use and it is only available for as long as you keep invoices in the openinvocies table.

Ok. Guys. Thanks a lot. You are showing me AR_CashReceiptsjournal.rpt and I was looking at AR_CashReceipts.rpt. So now before we lay this to rest, in which table is the field ""Comment"" in so I can add it to the CashReceipts report

Here is a visual. Need to add the comment UDF to the AR history table, then to the report WRK table.

Thanks. I just assumed that if it was available in the journal wrk table it must be pulling it from an existing table.

NEVER assume!!! I quit long ago that the programmers were consistent. Burned more times than I care to remember....

Has it EVER with Sage. One would think there would be consistency between the modules......... but NOT!!!!!
