I recently upgraded a customer from 4.50 to 2016 with JobOps. Today they tried to override the sales tax on a Sales Order (Sales Order, Totals, Tax Detail). They are able to override the tax amount and then save the order but when they reopen the order, the sales tax reverts back to the original amount. The change sticks on my system without JobOps, so I am not sure if I am missing an option somewhere or if it is a JobOps issue. I couldn't find anything on the knowledgebase. TIA

I was curious, as I am doing an upgrade with JobOps from 4.5 to 2017; and it does not work in 2017 either. The issue has been reported to JobOps and will be reviewed by the Product team . ID 1-7451: Overridden sales tax amount is re-calculated when sales order is re-accessed and no changes have been made Steps to Duplicate: 1. Access sales order entry 2. Select an customer for the order and put in a taxable sales tax schedule 3. Go to the lines tab and add some item codes with tax classes of TX 4. Go to the totals tab 5. Click the tax detail button and change the tax amount to a different value. 6. Click ok and accept the order 7. Re-access the order and go to the totals tab 8. Check the sales tax amount and it will have reverted back to the calculated amount Workaround: None

Thanks Lisa. This was not the answer I was looking for! I must have left my easy button at home.

Me neither, I was hoping it was just broke in 2016, as my client does this as well and we are supposed to go live in 2 weeks.

No ETA on fix? I hope this isn't a case of ""let's ignore it and maybe it will go away"".

In a perfect world, why would you need to override the sales tax amount? If your sales tax schedules are up to date (or using AvaTax), then the amounts should be calculating correctly. If there are amounts showing on the Sales Order and there have been changes to sales tax percentages by the time the invoice is finalized, shouldn't the system recalculate the sales tax?

I agree @John, but there are times when there is a taxing scenario that isn't covered in all the tables I have set up. Example, if doing work for the City, labor is taxed but not parts. Or if you are doing work for a tribal entity, they have a tax that must be paid to them. Gets complicated!

@JaneCavanaugh I just received the updated program for v 2017. Laura said it's also been coded for v2016; she is testing now. If you contact support they will send you the program.

Thanks @LisaDion. Is it a fix for v2016? I don't see anything posted on the knowledgebase.

It has been fixed as well for v2016, the ID is 1-7451 but the KB does not have the program attached. Support will be able to send it to you.
