I received an email from Log Me In that it will no longer be free. This was my personal Log Me In account. I'm wondering what others are using for unattended remote access to customers systems. Is there any freeware out there or do I need to pony up (or rather pay up!). Thanks

Same situation for me. I am looking forward to hearing what others are using.

I have tried a few and ended up with TeamViewer. I really like it. I did not have to pay anything until I ran into number of clients limit. Well worth it for me. If you search TeamViewer in 90Minds you will find several threads.

I am using GotoAssist - I think it's $50/mo but not sure. Periodically I've queried the group. Many of the responses were about programs that people ran on their own servers. That's not my model. I needed something totally hosted.

We use GoToAssist as well. We pay $462/year per user. You can set up unattended sessions if the customer allows it. Otherwise, you can send them a link to open a session when needed.

We are also using GoToAssist and pay the same as @ThereseLogeais

I think I might be using GotoManage - the main difference seems to be unattended connections. In many cases I find that is pretty important - especially for upgrades.

I think it's the same @WayneSchulz , just a name change. When you open it, does it say GoToAssist?

You are right - the icon is GotoAssist Expert on my desktop

We use GoToAssist also and yes we definitely need and use the unattended.

I use log me in, free and paid. Have several accounts with different logins. I was under the impression they would only allow 10 free computers. Any more than that you had to pay or eliminate ones so you only had 10. I have not seen anything lately regarding otherwise.

LogMeIn just announced yesterday that they were pulling the plug on Free.

Ok I get message now when I login to the account I had all computers on ""Free"". I get a discount of $49/year (reg $99/yr) for 2 computers on ""Pro"" and I can keep the rest on free. I support a lot of small companies and have them on my account so this cost is minimal for me. I really like Pro because you can share files (drag and drop) and remote printing. You can also switch between free and pro any time on any computers you have setup which makes it flexible. I still think as a paid version it is pretty reasonable. I also use Cubby for cloud backup.

@KellySappington on Logemin Pro does the 2 computers mean you can remotely access 2 computers simultaneously OR does it mean you can only have a grand total of 2 computers period in your list of remote computers that you've added. Hope I made sense.

Mikogo (free) is usually pretty decent.

@AlnoorCassim here is the link to the features of Pro..https://secure.logmein.com/products/pro/features.aspx I had not tried to launch 2 computers at the same time, so I tested this morning. If a second browser tab is launchec while you are in log me in, it will take you to your Home screen. At that point you can choose another computer to launch. They have added a client app now which installs on the computer you are using and then it will launch another window outside of your browser so it can be minimize on your taskbar instead of monopolizing your web browser. So yes I was able to launch 2 computers at the same time, but not because of the Pro version. I have 2 log me in accounts and not all computers are ""Pro"", more of them are ""Free"". It appears I will still be able to keep my free versions as long as I have a paid subscription. I will know for sure after Jan 30th.

I just checked and I'm paying $69/mo for GotoAssist - for those of you paying $462/yr how did you get that rate?

@WayneSchulz I signed up for the one free month and after the free trial period was over I paid the $462/year rate in advance. No monthly credit card charge.

@WayneSchulz my office manager negotiated the rate last summer after our 30 day trial. Looking at the invoice that was emailed from Citrix Online LLC the line item has this description: ""GoToAssist Remote Support Annual Plan with 1 technician seat and 100 unattended machines"".

We started with an intro plan waaaay back when and I think it just keeps renewing at that rate.

Just received this link from my hardware guy on reviews of free alternatives to LogMeIn. They are ranked worst to best on ease of use and comparable features to LogMeIn. http://libertytech.net/blog/the-top-7-alternatives-to-logmein/
