I quickly put together what I thought I heard on the call yesterday along with some other thoughts I had here: https://docs.google.com/a/ddfcgi.com/document/d/1mLhHY4C5aPhveuwpd0X9KUp3xs7xKU7jQWVI5IO27hw/edit?usp=sharing Feel free to review and modify, make comments, etc.

If we go 'full time position' here are my thoughts: We might get lucky and find the right person, but the problem is this is two very different types of jobs. A person who can write Sage specific SEO oriented, technically meaningful blogs isn't likely to be the kind of person who's great at organizing and running meetings and marketing. Best shot would be an ex-var who happens to be details oriented (not me for sure :) ) Otherwise, I fear that this is maybe 2 part time positions.

Ok, will going forward. I see you've put in my initial comments. I just might have somebody in mind, but do you see this as a position that requires travel? I know somebody who is now a stay at home mom but who used to be a major player in our industry, is very detail oriented, very productive, a great 'slave driver' and an excellent writer. May be somewhat weak on hardcore mas90 technical skills but can definitely coral contributors to get it done.

I've given it all I have got and turn this to everyone's capable hands. Good luck.

@MarkChinsky I'm not really sure how much if any travel would be required. I'd think the MOTM, possibly any other gatherings, and if we have any in person exec committee meetings. I've always assumed it would be one of us running things, but never completely thought of it as a full-time position until recently.

One thing I've learned, and we probably all have learned, that if you try and 'do something on the side' shit just doesn't get done. No fault to anybody, but we all have to prioritize so many roles as people and when you juggle too much, things get sacrificed. You can even see that Wayne is getting singed :) For example, look at http://erpbloggers.com/ This site is what 90minds could have been for Sage ERP, but it's run by a full time professional (Anya Ciecierski) and members pay good money to be part of the site (and they get exclusivity in their state) If you contribute one blog post per month, the fee is $150/month. It's $225 if you want them to write and edit a blog post on behalf of you per month. If you don't create any blog posts for a number of months, your exclusive state may be pulled from you and offered to somebody on the wait list (and the wait list is long) This is just one aspect, and 90minds is much larger in terms of it being a community where erpbloggers is purely a marketing/seo site. There are no meetings or conferences with erpbloggers. Anyway, if we decide to look at hiring somebody full time, and we come up with what we think is a fair pay scale, as I said, I may have a great candidate.

@MarkChinsky you're absolutely right about the doing something on the side or in addition to a regular workload. I've learned that I no longer can stay awake and force my way through the things I agree to do so I've had to learn to stop committing to as many things. Truthfully, I'm still in the process of learning that.

@WayneSchulz I'm just trying to not lose what momentum you've established and trying to make sure we don't backslide because this is too important to not happen.
