One thing I've learned, and we probably all have learned, that if you try and 'do something on the side' shit just doesn't get done. No fault to anybody, but we all have to prioritize so many roles as people and when you juggle too much, things get sacrificed. You can even see that Wayne is getting singed :)
For example, look at
http://erpbloggers.com/
This site is what 90minds could have been for Sage ERP, but it's run by a full time professional (Anya Ciecierski) and members pay good money to be part of the site (and they get exclusivity in their state) If you contribute one blog post per month, the fee is $150/month. It's $225 if you want them to write and edit a blog post on behalf of you per month. If you don't create any blog posts for a number of months, your exclusive state may be pulled from you and offered to somebody on the wait list (and the wait list is long)
This is just one aspect, and 90minds is much larger in terms of it being a community where erpbloggers is purely a marketing/seo site. There are no meetings or conferences with erpbloggers.
Anyway, if we decide to look at hiring somebody full time, and we come up with what we think is a fair pay scale, as I said, I may have a great candidate.
