I need to perform a mass-delete of about 15k Items. However, the majority of these have a related BOM in the B/M module, so the Delete Utility skips these items. There's no Utility or anything to do a mass-delete of BOM's, is there? Is that something that could be done with BOI? Any other options?

How many BOM's are left? Could you create a clean file, reint the BOM tables and import the good back in? You might try one of the MD's (e.g. Randy Marion) in the group. Maybe they could write something QAD.

I thought of the reinit/import option but was hoping for something a little less involved. There's currently 26k BOM's, so it's expected that we'd still have at least 10k or so BOM's left.

Hey @BrettZimmerman , couldn't you just ""merge"" the 15k items into a new item called ""delete this""? In know that the delete/change utility in IM does renumber the bills so, if you merge all of them to one item, you have only one bill to delete or deal with? But test it since I know from recent experience how long the delete/change utility takes to run, about 15-20 seconds an item and with 15k that's a lot of time.

Holy crap, @MoiraGoggin, that actually appeared to work! I did consider that originally but really didn't expect it to merge all the BOM's as well. But I just did a test on my local 4.5.4 system. I created 2 separate items, and then created the applicable BOM's. Then I created a MERGE item, and merged each of those 2 items into it. Note: The I/M Item DRM Utility performance was apparently fixed in 4.5 (PU3) and 4.40 (PU9 I believe). Fyi, I noticed that the components on the new automatically-created MERGE BOM, were the components of the last item to be merged during the Utility not that it appears to matter. Was able to then delete the MERGE BOM via B/M, and then delete the Item via DRM.
