I need some advice from those of you who deal with other software packages. I deal almost exclusively with Sage 100 and don't have a broad knowledge of other solutions. I have a client that's managed their next door Architect's business for many years. There agreement is about to end and the Architectural company need to find their own software solution. They have about 15 employees and need the core accounting modules along with payroll and job cost. Could anyone recommend anything?

Why aren't you recommending Sage 100c or do you need to provide two quotes?

Hello Moira. They want to find out information on other solutions, not just Sage 100.

Do they need time and billing? That could be a show stopper with Sage 100.

This is an unusual scenario. Their data resides in my clients Sage 100c 2016 advanced install. The first idea is to have them purchase their own copy of Sage and simply remove their data from one install to the other on their own server. They're looking for an alternative to Sage 100. They only need GL, AP, AR, BR, JC and PR.

They don't like Sage 100 or they just want to find something cheaper?

    Something cheaper.

For project accounting and/or professional services, we frequently see organizations using Deltek or Dynamics SL. I have no intimate knowledge of either, but they each seem to hang their hat in the AEC and professional services sector.

I presume something cheaper eliminates Deltek. You can get Dynamics SL Starter Pack and 3 Full Users for $5K I believe.
